MEGA INNOTEX (THAI) CO.,LTD.
MEGA Torch applied membranes are a popular type of waterproofing membrane systems around the world. Based on the external environment, our suppliers can provide specific material which would withstand lower or higher temperatures, extra UV protection, etc.
In order to identify which type of waterproofing membrane system is suitable and required for your flat roof as per specific needs, contact us for free evaluation of works and work quotation.
Currently the following suppliers in Thailand can provide the torch applied membranes: MEGA (APP-M/F) Torch on Membrane
Referred as the flat roof experts, the MEGA provides a MEGA 3PM roof waterproofing membrane system (MEGA APP-3PM) that has strong adhesive nature, maximum durability and long-lasting finish. It is a bituminous waterproofing membrane that is installed and used in a two-layer membrane system. Having so many desirable properties, the membrane is used for waterproofing flat roofs of commercial buildings.
Benefits of MEGA Torch on Membrane
The MEGATorch-on membrane or Nuraply 3PM offers multiple benefits.
• The membrane has a CodeMark certificate that ensures the building councils will accept it.
• The roofing system uses a granular slate for finishing that gives roofs a natural look.
• MEGA 3PM comes with a 5-year warranty, so no hassle of repairing roofs now and then.
• It is highly flexible and offers low maintenance.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES ROOFING CONSTRUCTION LAYERS
Primer : the primer should improve the adhesive bonding. It is an excellent antidust layer too.
The primer shall be applied to part or all the roof surface by brush, roller or spray to a clean and dry substrate. The primer must be thoroughly dry before other work proceeds
Side laps must be overlapped for min 10 cm (completely melted for at least 8 cm)
The membranes are adhered to the vertical surfaces but should remain unattached to the face of the cant strip. Apply bituminous primer to all metal, concrete and other porous surfaces and allow it to dry before installing the roofing membranes. When using membranes in two ply applications, the Capsheet membrane must run parallel with the Underlay one and must be installed with side laps bisecting the first membrane starting at the low point of the roof deck. Set the membrane, unroll and align to have a correct side lap. Stand on the membrane and reroll it for one half. Apply the propane torch to the exposed outer surface of the rerolled portion until the compound reaches the correct application temperature.
The surface will develop a slight sheen and smoke slightly when the correct temperature is reached. When this section of the membrane is heat welded, return to the start of the roll, reroll the first section and heat weld it
Every day, before leaving the job area or with an approaching storm, check all the seams done, picking the laps and flame all the unbonded laps. Finished areas must be protected from moisture and water penetration by welding a membrane stripe ( water cut off ) to the edge of the finished membranes or insulation boards and to the roof substrate. The stripes will be removed before resuming the work. For elastomeric membranes only : the finishing waterproofing layer should always be superficially

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
Polymer bitumen membranes must be thermo-welded on horizontal and vertical surfaces with a propane gas torch. End joints must be staggered (the overlap of four corners is not permissible). The surface over which the membranes have to be installed must be firm, dry, smooth, chemically compatible and free of debris and loose material. All the surfaces must be designed and installed in accordance with manufacturer’s industry or acceptable association standards. Roof slopes from 1,5 % are acceptable. Roofing shall start at the lower point of the roof deck with laps installed so that water flows over the laps. Application where the flow of water is against the laps is not acceptable.
On slopes exceeding 15 % the membranes must be installed with side laps running perpendicular to the direction of the roof slope. At walls and vertical surfaces the roofing membrane sheets shall extend over the full width of the cant strip and a minimum of 15 cm onto vertical surfaces.
